How To Create a Stacked Double Bun

Updated: Oct 6, 2018

Stacked Double Bun

In my latest ‘how to’ video I take you behind the scenes at my salon while I am creating  a stacked double bun on one of my gorgeous brides.

When creating the stacked double bun hairstyle keep in mind your clients head and body proportions. The bun placement is very important in making the hairstyle look balanced.

The products I am using in the video are:

  • Laque Dentelle Hairspray from Kerastase | This is a light, flexible hairspray that is fused with a Vita Ciment Complex. It allows me build the hairstyle without damaging the hair.

  • 2 Donut Sponges | I cut open and re-shaped 2 donut sponges to create the base of both of the buns. Use the large for the top bun and a smaller sponge for the bottom bun.

  • T3 Featherweight Blow-Dryer | I use the blow dryer to lock the hairstyle into place and give the hairstyle a clean finish.

  • Marcel Curling Iron | I use the Marcel Curling Iron to prep the hair and also to shape the pieces of hair extensions.

  • 1 Pack of 16-18″ Hair Extensions | The hair extension amount can change depending on how much hair your client has. I used 1 pack of 18″ extensions for this double bun.
